Alpha “Faye” Ziglar, age 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 23, 2020 surrounded by family at her son's home in Westville, Florida where she had resided for the last five years. Faye previously resided in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born in Benham, Kentucky in Harlan County December 15, 1933. After graduating from Tennessee Wesleyan College, she began working in Oakridge, Tennessee as a secretary on the Manhattan Project. In 1954, she married Thomas H. Ziglar. Then, she was employed with Civil Service, again as a secretary, working on many top-secret projects. Faye received multiple awards for her outstanding work throughout her career with Civil Service. She retired in 1995 as a GS 06. She continued to work until age 80 at which time she permanently retired. Anyone that knew Faye loved her. She was always fair, honest, and loyal. She always gave more than she took. When someone had a problem, she would always say, "Give it to God. " She served both as a mother and a father to her children, and as a result could fix almost anything: washers, dryers, cars, and more. She always supported her children in whatever they wanted to do and was always there to help them up if they failed. She was an active member in every church she attended throughout her life. Faye’s little canine friend was a black toy poodle named Tina. Wherever Faye went, Tina was always right by her side. The two of them were best friends for over ten years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lawson and Bessie Ora Templin; spouse, Thomas H. Ziglar; and seven siblings, Charles Thurman Templin, Mildred Emmalin McCloud, Ora Elaine Shelton, Melvin Lawson Templin, Made Allene Lewis, Herbert Gordon Templin, and Lelia Muriel Benton.
Faye is survived by her three children, Sherry Jones (Harold), Paula Sicuranza (Mike), and Thomas Ziglar (Rhonda); two siblings, Travis Templin (Sammie) and Shirley White; ten grandchildren; and nineteen and counting great- grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in Tennessee at a later date.
