Willie Faye Mancil, age 76, a life-long resident of the Leonia Community, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 in Crestview, Florida. She was born July 31, 1943 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Alter V. and Bessie Green Cain. In 1961, she graduated from Ponce de Leon High School. Willie Faye, an active member of Leonia Baptist Church, was always a dependable source of help during their Vacation Bible Schools or any other projects the church wanted completed, she was right there to do her part.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alter Ray and Larry Wayne Cain; and one sister, Sarah Vann.
Willie Faye is survived by two daughters, Michele Bowers and husband Eddie of Westville, Florida and Tanya Chapman and husband Butch of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; seven grandchildren, Megan, Hillary, Colby, Catelyn, Zachery, Ian, and Anna; eight great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nick, Lelan, Declan, Kayla, Zachery, Brianna, and Carson; two sisters, Betty Bishop and husband Wendell of Westville, Florida and Jean Summerfield of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and special great nephew, Riley Vann.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Willie Faye’s grandson, Zachery Forehand will be officiating. Committal services will follow at Leonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
