W A "Toby" Nelson

W A Nelson, age 66, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his residence.  He was born March 2, 1953 in Macclenny, Florida to Ebin and Esther Hardy Nelson.  During his life, he had logged, farmed, and worked in the construction business to earn a living.  When he found a little free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.   W A loved his family, especially spending time with the “little ones.”

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, C L and James Nelson.

W A is survived by his wife of over 36 years, Robbie Nelson; children, Tammy Hall, Johnny Allen Kirk, Tommy Kirk, and Jamie Kirk and wife Julie; fifteen grandchildren, Billy and wife Samantha, David, Robin, Chris and wife Jenna, Andrew and wife Raven, Aaron, Brandon, Toni, Kayla, Cheyenne, Selena, Rebecca, Justin, DeeDee, and J.R; twenty-one great-grandchildren with one soon to arrive; one brother, Walter Nelson; one sister, Penny Coffee and husband Greg; and one sister-in-law, Gearaline Nelson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.  A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Committal services will follow at Cluster Springs Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Billy Scott, David Hall, Andrew Clark, Aaron Clark, Chris Kirk, and Dwayne Jordan.  Honorary pallbearers will be: Gage Schipper and J.R. Kirk.
