Tracy L. Cook, 54, of Mary Esther, Florida, passed away on January 7th from complications of an auto-immune disease called Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, which she battled with courage for more than 5 years.
Born and raised in Broward County, Florida, Tracy’s life passion was shaping young lives through her career as a preschool and VPK teacher. Over the course of her career, she helped with the early development of hundreds of children. In 2013, Tracy moved to Okaloosa County and briefly continued her career in child development before being diagnosed with PBC in 2014. Those who knew Tracy would all agree that her soul was fueled by expressing love and giving to her family, friends and all animals - big and small.
Left behind to remember her giving soul are her brother, Donald E. Kirby III of Miami, his wife Stephanie, and their children Haley and Jordan. Also left to remember Tracy with love is her youngest sister Jeri Hickey (Calloway) of Ocean Springs, MS, who will grieve along side her husband Cameron and their children, Lillie, Kenadie, Jaxon and baby Channing. And piece of Tracy will also live forever in the heart of her sister Kendra DeLashmutt (Prohaska) and her husband Doug of Leavenworth, KS. She will be remembered for her endless strength and determination by all.
The family would like to thank her neighbors Steve and Sonja of Mary Esther for their compassionate and never-ending willingness to help Tracy over the past few years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood in Tracy’s memory, as a blood transfusion on 12/29/19 provided Tracy with a few more days to feel the love of her family.
