Thinh Hoang Nguyen

Thinh Hoang Nguyen passed away on Friday, September 28th, 2018 at the age of 60.

Born on April 21st, 1958, Thinh grew up in Vietnam with 9 loving siblings. Considered to be the most mischievous sibling, Thinh brought joy wherever he went and found light in every situation – even at times such as his daily visit to the principal’s office.

After immigrating to the United States, Thinh attended the University of South Alabama and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He did odd jobs and also worked at his father’s gas station to help provide for his family. Thinh also went onto receive his master’s degree at the University of Florida, and is known to be a very proud UF Gator.

Thinh worked a variety of different engineering jobs, however, he notably worked for the Department of Defense at Eglin Airforce Base for 35 years. He also had a passion for Tae Kwon Do and was an instructor in his free time who taught many students.

Thinh is remembered by his wife of 30 years, Cam Trang and his two loving children, Ryan and Mikae; He is also kept fondly in the hearts of his mother and father, Kieu and Mau Nguyen, and his siblings, along with the abundance of nieces and nephews they have blessed him with.

Despite not being here physically, the family takes comfort in the gifts and memories that he left us. Whether it be his sense of humor, the lessons that he lovingly taught, or even remembering his dislike for cats and his love of dogs (specifically Bambi and Milu), coffee, and Charlie Brown. But above all, we remember his sense of duty, responsibility, and love for his friends and family.
