Suzanne Pinette, age 82, died peacefully on September 3, 2019 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Suzanne was born September 25, 1936 in Monticello, Indiana, the daughter of Mentor and Velda Rankin.
Suzanne was an active member in the community and belonged to Beta Mu Master chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority and was their longtime treasurer. She was also a member of the red hat society and queen of the “Scarlett Darlins of the Emerald Coast."
In June of 1955, Suzanne married John Jerrell Hughes and they had two children, John Mark Hughes and Corbi Sue Hughes. Family and friends were Suzanne’s passion and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. In July of 1981, Suzanne married Donald A. Pinette.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Donald Pinette; son, John Mark Hughes and his wife Patricia; daughter, Corbi Sue Etheridge and her husband Edward; 8 grandchildren, John Jerrell Hughes, Stephen Andrew Hughes, Jonathan Edward Etheridge, Cailee Suzanne Etheridge, Ryan Hunter Etheridge and Shannon Williams, Shawn Pinkston and James Pinkston and 17 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Preceded in death, were Suzanne’s husband, John Jerrell Hughes October 1971 and her brother, Rodney Rankin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Ft. Walton Beach, Fl 32547 on Sunday, September 8, 2019 beginning at 2:00 P.M. with a reception to follow.
