Skelton Douglas Brooks

Skelton “Bubbie” Douglas Brooks, age 54, of Gulfport passed away on July 2, 2019, in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Bubbie was a 1985 graduate of Lyman High, in Longwood, FL.  Bubbie loved going to the beach and being near the water.  His favorite times were with friends and family at Crab Island on the back of his boat.  He was a loving companion, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  His smile was infectious, and he would never let anyone leave his presence without a big hug and signing “I Love You.” 

Bubbie is survived by his longtime partner, Bill Simpkins of Fort Walton Beach; his three brothers, Denton (Yupaporn) Brooks of Slidell, LA; Mac  (Tania) Brooks III., and David (Lori) Brooks, both of Gulfport, MS; his birth father, Denny Jordan; his nieces and nephews, Natasha Wichterich, her husband Josh, and their children, Joshua and Bella, Ryan Brooks, his companion Mckenzie, and their son Noah, Arsen Brooks, Austin Brooks, Rhyanna Brooks, Ane’Lei Brooks, Madylaine Brooks, Amelia Brooks, Emma Brooks, and Sophia Brooks; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mac and Becky Brooks.

A time of visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Rd NE, Fort Walton Beach. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.
