Shela Kay Wilkerson

Shela K. Wilkerson, age 68, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019.  She was born July 29, 1950 in Gaskin, Florida to Lee and Gladys Alberson Wilkerson.   For many years, she was employed with the Tri-County Community Council as a van chauffeur. Shela, having a happy-go-lucky personality, was dedicated to her family and friends, always loving them unconditionally. She will be remembered as a precious mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Angie and Monissa.

Shela is survived by her companion, Charles Williamson; one son, Michael Horton and wife Mary; one daughter, Tina Lewis; six grandchildren, Crystal, Jessica, Michael, Stephen, Daniel, and Benjamin; four great-grandchildren, Britton, Austin, Dusty, and Jenna; one sister, Marcelle Wilkerson; one brother, Royce Wilkerson; and cousins who were more like sisters to her, Wilma King and Charlotte Gainey.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
