Roger Bruce Miller

Roger Bruce Miller, age 67, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home in Crestview, Florida. Roger was born September 12, 1951 in Niceville, Florida to Emmitt and Louana Miller. Roger was a master mechanic and began working on cars as a very young child with his Dad. He was employed as an auto mechanic and a truck driver for over 50 years and he could fix just about anything. Roger enjoyed being at the shop and sharing his passion and knowledge of cars with his two sons, his nephews and his son-in-law. He also loved fishing and being on the water, going to car shows, working on his "hot rod" and spending time with his family and friends. 

Roger was preceded in death by his son, Roger Brad Miller; his parents, Emmitt and Louana Miller; two brothers, W.L. "Bud" Miller and Jerald Miller, Sr.; one sister, Margaret "Polly" Simmons and his beloved dog, Dixie.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara Jean Miller of Crestview, FL; one son, Sean Bruce Miller of Panama City, FL; two daughters, Gloria Miller Schroeder of Mesa, AZ; Amanda Miller Thompson and husband Gary of Laurel Hill, FL; seven grandchildren, Dillon Weaver of Crestview, FL, Hannah and Samuel Schroeder of Mesa, AZ, Dallas, Bailey, Christopher Miller and Seana Miller of Crestview, FL; two great-grandchildren, Aniston Holt of Crestview, FL and Steele Ferencz of Mesa, AZ; one brother, Kenneth Miller and wife Beth of DeFuniak Springs, FL; four sisters, Ann Jones and husband Doug of New London, NC, Wanda Wilkerson and Mary Jane Miller of New Harmony, FL. and Sandra Melton and husband Mickey of Wetumpka, AL; numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends. He was known as "Uncle Roger" and "Pawpaw" to many others and will be truly missed by all that knew him.

Visitation will take place, Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Davis Watkins Crestview Memorial.  Funeral services will follow the visitation starting at 2:00 P.M., in the Chapel of Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial, 492 East Pine Avenue, Crestview, Florida 32539. 

Burial will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 2281 County Highway 2A, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.
