MSGT Robert “Bob” Edward Rexford, age 86, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on May 12, 2019.
Robert was born on November 23, 1932 in Cambridge Springs, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, to Jesse Leon Rexford and Pearl Evelyn Westerling.
He is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force (1951-1971) and retired postal carrier of the Fort Walton Post Office (1977-1995). “Rex” enjoyed fishing and captained the “Miss Terry” and “Billie-Bob” charter boats. He also spent many hours in his workshop making wood crafted items.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years who recently passed away on September 18, 2018, Willie “Billie” Clay Rexford. He is survived by son, Jerry D. Rexford of Fort Walton Beach, FL; daughter, Teresa D. Harper and her husband, David, of Johnston, IA; son, Larry E. Rexford and his wife, Jackie, of Gulfport, MS; daughter, Sherri R. Owens of Pace, FL; grandchildren, Douglas Lumpkin of Sanford, NC; Christy Bauer of Findlay, OH; Benjamin Lumpkin of Lakeville, MN; Cheryl Cenname of Johnston, IA; Tammy Harper of Des Moines, IA; Deborah Harper of Des Moines, IA, Andrew Rexford of Gulfport, MS; Hunter Owens of Pace, FL; and Luke Owens of Navarre, FL; and 13 great grandchildren.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Robert and his wife Willie; where their ashes will be scattered over the ocean.
