Ralph M. Proctor, age 82, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 14, 2019. Ralph grew up in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. After serving a tour in the Air Force he was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller which he dearly loved. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs, where he served for many years as a deacon and elder. He loved fishing and was an avid golfer. He and Linda loved cruising and took many over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda of 22 years; one daughter, Teresa Meeks; one son, Jeffrey Proctor (Pam); two grandsons, Travis Meeks (Jessica) and Zachery Proctor; one granddaughter, Whitney Carney (Jason); one great-grandson, Bobby Meeks; two step-daughters, Shanda Yawn (Paul) and Kimberly Harrell (Michael); six step-grandchildren, Devan Dixon, Carter Yawn, Mikayla Harrell, Gavin Harrell, Ava Harrell, and Grayson Harrell; one brother, David Proctor (Billie Verne); one sister, Deborah Furr (Craig); and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Taber officiating. A time of visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.
