Pastor Lonnie Lee Forehand

Pastor Lonnie Lee Forehand, age 72, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 6, 2019 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida shortly before he was to do what he had done almost every Sunday morning for the past 47 years, preach the word of God.  He was born January 4, 1947 in DeFuniak, the son of Thomas Nathaniel “Buck” and Jewel Lynell Forehand.  Being outdoors where he could admire God’s creation was a joy to him.  Riding his Harley Davidson, Lonnie had toured forty states viewing the Grand Canyon, Pikes Peak, and the Rocky Mountains, to mention just a few.  Also, he escaped the stresses of life by fishing the rivers, local lakes, bays and the Gulf of Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Wesley Forehand; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Brother Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Addie Ruth Forehand; two daughters, Rhonda Sue Woodham and husband Charles and Christie Lee Robinson and husband Richard; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Lonnie Jay, Lindsay, Brittney, Amanda, Alex, Katelyn, and Hannah Grace; five great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 2 p.m. with Apostle Wayne White officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Committal services will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
