Nathaniel Johnson

Nathaniel Johnson, age 81, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida passed away August 7, 2019.  He was born in Savannah, Georgia on December 29, 1937 to his parents, Magnus and Eunice Dunmore Johnson.  He graduated from Savannah State College as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967 residing in Savannah, Washington D.C. and Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.  He also served as a pastor of a nondenominational church.  Nathaniel was married to Barbara McGregor Johnson on July 24, 1998.

Nathaniel is survived by his loving wife, Barbara McGregor Johnson; children, Jeffrey Johnson, Sheldon Johnson(Lisa), Michelle McGregor and Nicole Colgan(Chris); grandchildren, Brittany Freimuth, Austin Colgan, Miranda Colgan, Zachary Tatro, Hannah Colgan and Taylor Johnson Withers; great grandchildren, Caden Colgan, Mason York and Colton York. 

He is preceded in death by his former spouse, Eleanor Johnson; daughter, Vanessa Johnson; siblings, Virginia Miller, Rose Paterson and Matthew Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2019 starting at 2:00 p.m., at Hollywood Church of God in Christ, 122 Hollywood Blvd. SE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548. Pastor Michael Jackson and Pastor Willie Sheffield will be officiating the service.
