Mickie Paris Taylor, age 68, a longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach, passed away on March 15, 2019. She was born on August 22, 1950, in Gary, Indiana, to J.P. and Mabel Paris. Mickie was a local well-regarded and talented cosmetologist serving the area for over 25 years. Many knew her from her salon, “A Cut Above,” which she owned and operated. She enjoyed reading, gardening and loved Alabama Football. Mickie thoroughly enjoyed antiquing and had a knack for decorating and an eye for art. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and an adoring grandmother.
Mickie is survived by her daughters, Tracy Robbins (Gerard Perillo, III) of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Leigh Ann Garrett (Mick Garrett) of Navarre, FL; grandsons, Chandler Robbins of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Taylor Robbins (Daniel McCall) of Charlotte, NC, John Garrett of Navarre, FL, and Dylan Garrett of Navarre, FL; sister, Jackie Capps (J.R.) of Centerville, AL; brother, Billy Paris of Centerville, AL; sister-in-law, Patty Sheppard (Jimmy) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; nieces, Amy and Brooke; and nephew, Brian. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Taylor; father, J.P. Paris; and mother, Mabel Bomar Paris.
Funeral Services will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Florida on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
