Louise (Westmore) Sherfield

Louise Sherfield passed from this life Thursday, April 10, 2019 in Crestview, Florida. She was born on December 15, 1926, the first child of ten, to the union of Jimmie T. and Queen Anna Elizabeth Owens Westmore, into a Christian home. Louise committed her life to the Lord at an early age. After she graduated from high school at Tivoli, she married Willie Wiggs and to this union had one son, Willie Wiggs Jr.  Louise moved to Pensacola, Florida and joined Sunlight Baptist Church, where she served faithfully. She married Curtis Oliver and had three children, Ocleva (Clarence) Williams, Shirley, and Keith Oliver. Louise found love a third time in Angus Sherfield and they married.  Louise moved back to DeFuniak Springs, Florida after they married, joined Union Springs Baptist Church and  served until she was unable to attend for the last two years. While residing in Pensacola, she worked and retired from The Physician’s Lab.  In DeFuniak, she retired from the Walton County School System as a middle school cafeteria employee and for several years served as  a poll worker with the elections office. 

She is preceded in death by two children, Shirley and Keith Oliver; husband, Angus Sherfield; siblings, Mary Jackson, Dorothy Jenkins, James Westmore, Hubert Westmore, and William (Sonny) Westmore.

Louise left four siblings to cherish her memory:  Anna Dasher, Synthia (Robert) Snow, Roy (Shirlyan) Westmore, and Carl (Ernestine) Westmore;  Also, to cherish her memory, two children: Willie (Frail) Wiggs Jr and Ocleva (Clarence) Williams;  grandchildren: Terence (Sharlene) Wiggs, Nicholas Wiggs, Brittany (Mariah) Thompson, LaToya (Reginald) Williams, LaTrisha Oliver-Moore, Maya Andrews, Morgan Jarod Oliver-Smith, Delquina Jones, and Davarus Johnson; great-grandchildren: Eric August, Reginald Williams III, Izaia Williams,  Corbin Curry,  Kristopher Stallworth, Kiarah Crews, Ayanna Wiggs, Arissa Wiggs, Nicole Wiggs, Milani Ford, Mikeyla Jones, Maniylah Jones, Michael Jones, III, and Xander Wiggs;  great-great grandchildren: Xante and Xah’rilah Curry, and Arianna Bickel-August;  one brother and two sisters-in-law: Marion (Yvonne) Sherfield, Etherene Sheffield Copeland, and Dollie Sheffield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor A.M. Johnson officiating.  Committal services will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
