Louie Trumon Flowers, age 81, of Argyle, Florida passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019. He was born March 14, 1938 in Alabama. In 1977, he retired after 22 years of faithful service to his country in the Air Force. He retired while living in Texas, moved to Connecticut seeking a job opportunity as a jet mechanic with Civil Service, followed his job to Mississippi and retired for the second time. Louie and his wife Wilma located land in Argyle and spent the last 20 years of their lives enjoying the quiet, rural setting which they truly loved.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years who recently passed away April 7, 2019, Wilma Flowers and one daughter, Teresa Nelson.
Louie is survived by one daughter, Denise Hembach and husband Joel of Eagle River, Alaska; two sons, Louie Jr. and Gregory Flowers; one sister, Joyce of Connecticut; grandchildren, Chris Hembach of Eagle River, Alaska, Erica and Cole Muzzana of Oak Harbor, Washington, Crystal and Tommy Robbins of Savannah, Georgia, Bridgett and Al Ortega of Argyle, Florida, Shawna and Brian McCrory of Ponce de Leon, Florida; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Scott Keppel officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.
