Kathleen Yvonne Fisher

Kathleen Yvonne Fisher, known to all as Yvonne, Sis, and Mema, passed away in the early hours on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 surrounded by her family in Ft Walton Beach, FL.

Yvonne was the daughter of Harry M. and Muriel (Gahagen) Travis of Smicksburg, PA. She married Clair Ernest Fisher of Dayton, PA on Nov. 14, 1943 in Niagara Falls, N.Y. She lived in Indiana, PA for many years where she worked for several years for Brody's Dept. Store as the Children’s Dept manager/buyer.  After retiring, they moved to Florida to be near family.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband in the Golden Falcons RV Group to many Bluegrass Festivals and to various campgrounds from Florida to Texas. Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren, all who adoringly fought to be her favorite. Both friends and family loved her fresh baked goodies, especially her pies which were legendary with everyone having their own favorite.

Well into her eighties, Yvonne could be seen daily walking as many as 3-6 miles a day through the neighborhood.  Serving on the Ft Walton Beach Medical Auxiliary for many years was one of her favorite jobs where she could be seen working at the front desk helping both patients and their families. She was a longtime member of Graystone United Presbyterian Church, Indiana, PA and Trinity United Methodist Church Ft Walton Beach, FL.

Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Linda and husband, Gary Fulton; Nancy and husband, Michael Ellenberger; daughter-in-law, Karen Fisher; grandchildren, Stephanie Fulton, Melinda Fulton, Stacey and husband, Mark Anderson, Melissa and husband, Eric Pryor, Amy and husband, Erick Casto, Rebecca Ellenberger, Mathew and wife, Jessica Fisher, Amanda Knott, Natalie and husband, Chris Krecota; great grandchildren, Nikolas Schuller Sharbaugh, Keegan Fulton-Schuller, Michael and wife, Angelia Anderson, Bryan Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Ashlee Anderson, Mark Anderson Jr, Dylan Anderson, Samantha Pryor, Jackson Pryor, Caden Casto, Mason Casto, Madison Knott, Zachery Knott, Amelie Fisher, Ellory Fisher, Baylen Fisher, and finally great great grandchildren,  Ella Anderson and Julian Shankland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clair Fisher;  son, Ronald Fisher; parents, Harry M. and Muriel Travis; brothers, Laird Travis and Elmo "Flip" Travis and sisters, Dolores Stockdale and Donna Lloyd.

The family wishes to thank Superior Residence of Niceville, FL along with Belvedere Commons and Emerald Coast Hospice of Ft. Walton Beach, FL for their loving and compassionate care of Yvonne through her illness.

A funeral service will be held at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, 965 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. A private interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions, in Yvonne's memory, be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 340 C Beal Parkway NW, Ft Walton Beach, FL 32548.
