John Rankin Thursby, Sr. passed away quietly Friday, March 1, 2019 at his residence.

John was born October 7, 1934 in Orange City, Florida. After graduating from Deland High School, John joined the United States Marine Corps and later transferred to the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant and opened an automotive repair shop.

John was preceded by his wife Willa and his oldest son Johnny.

John is survived by three children: Victor, Robin, and Gary; four granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. He will be missed by his family and friends.
