John L. Schlau

John L. Schlau, USAF, Ret., age 85, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on June 17, 2019.  He was born in Chicago, IL, on June 29, 1933 to John and Theckla Schlau.  After entering the Air Force he met the love of his life, Wanda Maxine Middleton and they were married on November 30, 1956. 

John is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Schlau; children, Patti (Mark) Lapre, Tom Schlau, and Doug (Johanna) Schlau; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Charles Schlau (Ann Grunald), and Theresa Ortez. John was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Melissa Schlau; and brother, James Schlau.

Services will be held at Ocean City Church, 428 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL, on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11:00 am with the visitation beginning one hour prior.  Interment will follow with full military honors at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
