James “Jim” R. Welsh Passed away peacefully on July 20, 2019, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with his wife by his side. He resided in Fort Walton Beach for 41 years having moved from his home state of New Jersey in 1978. Jim was born April 26, 1943 in Trenton, New Jersey to Clarence and Dora Welsh. He retired from Okaloosa County Parks Department and enjoyed spending his retirement bowling and volunteering at Pet Welfare on Eglin Air Force Base. Jim was an active member of Knights of Columbus of Fort Walton Beach and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving Jim is his devoted wife of 53 years, Gloria Welsh; his loving family, friends, and pet, Crickett. Preceding him in death are his parents Clarence and Dora Welsh and brother Clarence Welsh Jr. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 beginning with a Rosary Prayer Service at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 110 St Mary Ave SW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 a Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00. Interment will be held at Beal Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
