James Morrison Horton

James Morrison Horton of Mary Esther, Florida, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Ft Walton Beach Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1936 in Jesup, Georgia to Royce and Willie Maude Horton. Jim married Rosalee Jaynes on August 31, 1956 until Rosalees death in 1992. Jim remarried in 1994 to Peggy Barbaree.

Jim was in the Air Force for over 30 years, followed by working as a Civil Servant for over 10 years. Over his military and civil service career Jim was awarded many awards and honors for heroism and valor. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mary Esther.

Jim is survived by his estranged wife, Peggy; his daughters, Jimilee Helms, Sabrina Chronkhite and Tammy Stanton; his grandchildren, Peter Kallas, Christopher Kallas, Rachel Surratt, Audra Walbert and  Samantha Helms; great grandchildren, Eli Surratt, Kyree Walbert, Rory Walbert, Wyatt Walbert and Ayla Walbert.

A graveside service will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS, Pensacola, Florida,  Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.
