Mrs. Ilavay Anderson, age 85, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away May 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Anderson was born March 23, 1934 in Leonia, Florida and was a lifetime resident of Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Anderson was a housewife for years other than the time worked at Bob’s Restaurant many years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her family, road trips with Artie, and shopping with Linda every Monday when she was able to go.
Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her parents, Carly and Jessie Carroll; husband, Gene “Slim” Anderson; and siblings, Houston Carroll, Melanay Odom, and Harvey Carroll.
She is survived by three sons, Artie Anderson, Larry Anderson (Kathy), and Jeffery Anderson (Jackie) all of DeFuniak Springs, FL; one daughter, Linda Burnham (Earl) of Bruce, FL; daughter-in-law, Kim Anderson of Panama City Beach, FL; brother, Carlton Carroll (Pat) of Leonia, FL; sister, Edna Mae Cross also of Leonia, FL; three sister-in-laws, Peggy Campbell, Punk Carroll, and Michelle Carroll all of DeFuniak Springs, FL; seven grandchildren, Corey, Matthew, Mark, Mason, and Michael Anderson and Archie and Kenneth Burnham; and three great-grandchildren, Trinity, Cash, and Finley Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, beginning at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jason Campbell officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
