Gary Bruce Hulbert

Gary Bruce Hulbert, longtime Destin resident, died on November 4, 2019 at age 83.  He was born in Detroit, Michigan, he grew up there, graduating from Central Michigan University. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, spending most of that time in Japan.

Upon his return, he embarked on a long and successful career in sales with Signode Corporation. He lived in Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and St Charles, Illinois before discovering and moving to the beautiful beach community of Destin, Florida.

His love of travel took him to destinations throughout Europe. His natural friendliness and gift of gab brought him lifelong friendships.

He eventually fell in love with the Mexican beach town of Puerto Vallarta, where he spent ten happy years before returning to Destin in 2010.

Gary will be dearly missed by his cousins, Sharon Hines of Newnan, Georgia and Gordie Buynak of Pellston, Michigan, his Mexican  amigos/familia and beloved "Chuy" (Jesús P Velez).

Gary touched many lives, made many friends and will be missed by his neighbors and the staff of his beach residence at the Holiday Surf & Racquet Club.
