Foie Wesley Hicks

Foie Wesley Hicks, age 91, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on February 23, 2019. She was born in rural Covington County, AL. After her marriage she lived in Mobile, AL until moving to Fort Walton Beach in 1968. Her working life included secretarial positions, nursing, office manager and Chamber of Commerce roles.

Foie is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Herman Wesley and Mae Belle (Butler) Wesley; her husband of 70 years, Clayton Hicks, and her brother Harold Wesley and wife Louise.

Foie is survived by her sons Don Hicks and David (Pat) Hicks of Fort Walton Beach, FL; daughter-in-law- Ann Hicks of Fort Walton Beach, FL; grandchildren Alison (Scott) Zucs of Niceville, FL;  Donnie (Jodie) Hicks of Destin, FL; and Lindy (Matthew) Abbott of Defuniak Springs, FL; great grandchildren Shelby, Sadie, Keegan, Sophie, Emily, Bryson, and Parker, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Flowers will be accepted or donations in Foie’s name can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Fort Walton Beach library fund. Both Foie and Clayton were actively involved in their church for many years.

Funeral services will be held at Fort Walton Beach First United Methodist Church, 103 First St SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:30 AM with Reverend Dave Barkalow officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
