Edna Earl Belk

Edna Belk, aged 79, of Shalimar, Florida went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones and her favorite hymnals playing.  Edna Earl Moulton was born on September 13, 1940 in Donalsonville, Georgia.

Edna moved to Northwest Florida in 1951 with her parents and remained in the Fort Walton Beach since 1953. She was a 1958 graduate of Choctawhatchee High School and 1990 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Troy State University with a BS degree in Business. She worked as an Executive Secretary with Civil Service and retired in 1994 after 36 years of dedicated service. Her civil service work including various organizations, commanding officers including tactical air warfare and EOD.

Edna was the beloved wife of 33 years of Cecil Belk, minister at Emerald Coast Church of Christ. She was an active member of the congregation dedicating many years of retirement to serving others. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and enjoyed making crafts, interior decorating, traveling and taking cruises to beautiful locations. She was a long term active member of the Emerald Coast Church of Christ.  She enjoyed volunteering for several years at the Agape Christian Academy Thrift Store. She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1969 and part of the local Xi Mu Rho Chapter.

Ms. Belk was preceded in death by her father, Earl Moulton and mother, Margie Godby Thoma.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil R. Belk of Shalimar, FL; daughter, Tracy Gorby Seymour (Dan) of Oakton, VA; grandchildren, Myles, Noah and Erica Seymour of Oakton, VA; sister, Evelyn Mims (Larry) of Shalimar, FL; niece, Kimberly McCracken of Trussville, AL; nephew, Chad Smith of Crestview, FL; nephew, Robert Grogan of Bonifay, FL; grandniece/nephew; Hannah and Logan McCracken of Trussville, AL; grand nephews, Mitchell and Marshall Smith of Crestview, FL; stepsons, Steve Belk of Tampa, FL and Standon Belk of Flowery Branch, GA.; stepdaughters, Sherri Belk of Rabun Gap, GA and Sharla Calloway of Pensacola, FL.

Edna will be laid to rest on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.  Services will be held at Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL. 32547.  Following the service, the graveside burial will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 Beal Pkwy NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL.  Family and friends are invited to gather at the Emerald Coast Church of Christ for a Celebration of Edna’s Life, a dinner and fellowship starting at 5:00 p.m.
