Dr. Carolyn Louise Wasdin, age 84, of Destin, FL, was called home to her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2018. She was born on April 30, 1934 in Akron, Ohio to Charles and Cleo (Fisher) Probert.
Dr. Carolyn Wasdin's accomplishments were many as a musician, singer, teacher and counselor. She composed songs that were published and recorded. She traveled 30 nations and became a friend to many around the world. She established a school in Florida and one in Georgia. Obviously music and education filled her career however her greatest love was a spiritual walk with her Lord and her prayer time was paramount. Carolyn's close and loving relationship with her husband, four daughters and 15 grandchildren will never fade. Those who knew her best loved her most.
Dr. Wasdin is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Clyde B. Wasdin of Destin, FL; daughters, Melody Eilers and her husband, Billy, of Bakersfield, CA, Rev. April Woltmann of Destin, FL, Kimberly Mazza of Bakersfield, CA, and Edie Larson and her husband, Larry, of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Charlene Probert of Lakeland, FL, and Yvonne McGill and her husband, Lauren, of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends at Destiny Worship Center, 122 Ponciana Blvd., Miramar Beach, FL, 32550, on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Destin Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the PEP Institute in Dr. Carolyn Wasdin’s memory.
