Dora Rose Christ

Dora Rose Christ, age 79, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Dora was born December 21, 1938 in Defiance, Ohio to Dean and Edna Campbell.

She was a graduate of Antwerp High School in Ohio and attended the Ohio State University gaining a degree in Navigational and Guidance System Technologies which launched her into an avionics career as a Civil Service employee in conjunction with the USAF at the Newark Air Force Station in Newark, Ohio. She also served at McDill AFB, Tampa, Florida and Luke AFB in Phoenix, Arizona. After retiring from Civil Service she held many different management positions for various companies, including the Sahara Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dora and her husband Mark Christ also worked for the State of Florida with The Foster Parent Program for 10 years before retiring from that service.

She is survived by her husband, Mark E. Christ; her brother, Franklin Campbell; six children, eighteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, foster children and other people who she took to heart and created them as her children and adopted family.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Edna Campbell and her sister, Judy Proxmire.

A funeral service will take place at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018 with a visitation starting at 6:00 p.m.
