Dennis Roberts Keeney, 77, of Sandestin, Florida, passed away with family by his side at Sacred Heart Hospital in Miramar Beach, Florida on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019. He was born July 19th, 1941 in Erlanger, Kentucky to the late Olin and Ethel Keeney.
As a child, Dennis attended Erlanger Baptist Church. Later in life, he was an active member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Lloyd High School, class of 1959, and earned his bachelors in business at University of Kentucky in 1964. Dennis began his professional career at The Hill Company in Cincinnati, returning to Northern Kentucky to work with lifelong friend Bill Scheben at the Community Bank, from which he retired as bank vice- president in 1997. Dennis was a member of the Rotary Club, the Lyon’s Club, and the Kenton County Water Board. He continued working with Scheben Development, until he moved permanently to Sandestin Resort in Florida.
He will be remembered as genteel, kind, and honest; living a life full of laughter with his soft spoken and wonderful sense of humor. Dennis was a talented and award winning glass artist with a passion for architecture and design. He was admired for his devotion and steadfast nature, evident by the admiration of his many lifelong friends.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Keeney, with whom he shared 29 wonderful years of marriage. He will forever be cherished in the lives of his 5 children, Kevin (Theresa), Kyle (Jennifer), Krey (Becky), Kevin (Christie), and Donald (Kristen); his 11 grandchildren, Katherine, Sean, Lily, Julia, Caroline, Dylan, DJ, Sydney, Will, Anna, and Chris; his 2 siblings, Wilma Wright and Ray Keeney; and his sister-in-law, Dona Badgett.

N.W., Atlanta, GA 30309. Shepherd provided phenomenal care and support to Dennis and his family over the past ten years.
A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held in Sandestin at 1461 Baytowne Ave. E, on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 2:00. A service in Erlanger, Kentucky will be held on July 6, 2019.
