Dennis David Davis of Fort Walton Beach, FL went to be with the Lord September 7, 2019. Born in 1955, his family relocated to Fort Walton Beach in 1956. Dennis passed peacefully in his Fort Walton Beach home after battling an aggressive form of brain cancer. He was surrounded by family, including his beloved wife, Susan Crawford Davis.
Dennis was a devoted husband to Susan, his high school sweetheart, and was a true family man who would do anything he could to ensure happiness and security for those he loved most. He owned and operated Green Acres Paint and Body, family-owned locally since the late 50s, and was the 3rd generation involved in the 56-year running Annual Antique Show and Sale until he began his fight against cancer in July 2018. Dennis was a hard worker who could fix almost anything, a business man and a talented automotive painter. He was an avid hunter, locally and across the US and Canada. When hunting season was over, he fished the gulf waters with friends and family. Dennis always brought the jokes, soon-to-be-world-famous wild game recipes and fresh gulf seafood to any gathering. He was a fun-loving husband, father, grandad, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved our country and the men and women who fight for it.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate Susan Davis, married June 1975, just a week after graduating from Fort Walton Beach High School; his daughter April Sarver (Joseph) of Fort Walton Beach and son David Davis (Rebecca) of Crestview, FL. He leaves behind his endearing grandchildren Dalton, Devin, Lauren, Danielle and grandson due in November. He is additionally survived by his mother Jean Davis, sister Patti Andrews and her husband Don, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws including father in-law Howard Crawford, special family friend Charles Wimberly, beloved K9 Dexter The Dog and many friends held a special place in his heart. Dennis is preceded in death by his father John Davis Sr., brother John (Johnny) Davis Jr., grandparents Jack and Marie Cochran and, most recently, his mother in law Jeri Crawford.
