Che' valier Kenyatta Paul

Che’valier Kenyatta Paul, age 45, departed this life on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Albany, Georgia.  He was born January 7, 1973 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Vernell Page Paul and Richard Dobson of Sacramento, California.  He graduated from Northview High School in Dothan, Alabama and furthered his studies at Wallace College and Troy State University, both in Dothan.  Cha’valier had worked with BRINKS Cash Management, but was presently an employee with PG & W Auto Glass.  When visiting DeFuniak Springs, Florida, he fellowshipped at Park Street Church of God In Christ.

Che’valier had earned training certificates in Cisco Computer Systems, video camera, and photography which enabled him to become a producer, photographer-(still), camera operator, and digital film technician.  He had a passion for the entertainment/media industry and these skills aided him in becoming a producer and actor in Tumbleton Road (2008); Wild Blue (2013), The Life and Death of an Unhappily Married Man (2015); and Born & Raised (2012). Also, he liked being involved in ventures and enterprises that helped other people. He was a spokesperson for HelpMe2Stop.org, raising awareness for Trichotillomania (a hair pulling disorder/hair loss).  He was a sports enthusiast, with tennis leading the way, evidenced by being a member of the National Tennis Association (NTA).

He is preceded in death by his precious mother, Vernell Page Paul; both grandfathers, Robert William Paul, Sr. and William Dobson; and his grandmother, Dorothy Dobson.

Che’valier is survived by his fiance’ Stacey Caldwell Rivers; to be step-daughter, Baylee Rivers; father, Richard Dobson; four aunts: Lucy (James) Toombs of Groveland, Florida, Glenda (Walter) Ales of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Sylvania (Mitchell) Matthews of Houston, Texas, and Rheanette Dobson-Lee of Victorville, California; first cousins: Laconduas (Chris/Kali) Freeman, Darnisha Wimberly, and LaRhonza (Victor) Rodriquez; and many relatives, friends and co-workers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Walter Ales officiating.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Committal services will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
