Charles Hugh Moore, age 76 of Crestview, Florida passed from this life peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center in Crestview.
Charles was born at St. Josephs Hospital, Savannah, GA to John Moore Jr. and his wife Margaret Moore. His loving wife of 56 wonderful years is Linda Moore, formally Schmit. They had four children, Timothy Ray, James Randal, Susan (Married to Greg), Jimmy (Married to Tonya), who gave them six grandchildren (Ashleigh, Gerran, Sasha, Holly, Courtney, Junior). They gave them seven great grandchildren, Taylor, Joshua, Grayson, Malyia, Gabriella, Ezekiel, and Noah. He has many wonderful extended family members, too many to list here.
Charles spent most of his adult life in service to the United States Air Force where he served for 28 years and attained the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Most of his career he served as a civil engineering troop, technician, superintendent, and manager. He also served as an aerospace control and warning systems operator for a short time. He was awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one silver star and three bronze oak leaf clusters.
Charles and Linda loved to bowl and spend time gaming on line. Charles was also a lover of the game of golf, one of the only lefty’s out there when he played, was quite an accomplished horse shoe player and most importantly was a dad who would be in the middle of games with Susan and Jimmy.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff and care takers at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center who made dad’s last days as best as could be.
