Billie L. Pelfrey, age 78, passed away December 30, 2018 at Ft. Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. She has been a resident of Ft. Walton Beach since 1968 and was born in Richmond, Kentucky on January 28, 1940 to her parents, Edna and William Reinhart.
Billie served as secretary to Judge Livingston of Okaloosa County and completed her career of 25 years as an employee of Eglin Federal Credit Union, starting in the PR department and continued in the collections department. Billie was a devout Christian and played both piano and organ for Calvary Baptist Church, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. She loved music, books, her pets and the water and beaches of Northwest Florida. Billie was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend with a gentle and loving nature.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kernen (John); son, Larry Abney; stepdaughter and son in law, Theresa and Kirk Lanier; stepson and daughter in law, Thomas Pelfrey, Jr. (Donna); grandchildren, John W. Kernen, II(Melinda), Larry Abney, II, Jennifer Abney, Spencer Abney, Miles Kirkpatrick and Eric Kirkpatrick(Juliette); five great grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to list and also a large host of friends.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Pelfrey; sister, Lois Ulreich; son in law, John W. Kernen and great grandson, Kai Kernen.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Beal Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Jim Krug officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Billie to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
