Betty Shelton Obituary

Betty Ann Shelton, age 64, of Valparaiso, FL, passed away on May 8, 2018.  She was born on August 27, 1953, in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Lawson) Shelton; and sister of Marshall Shelton, Debbie Shelton, Vikki Shelton and Isaac Shelton.

Betty is survived by her children, Melissa Shelton, Samantha Chaney  and Daniel Chaney; grandchildren, Andrew Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Christopher Shelton, Kaitlyn Garcia, Makayla Garcia, Annabella Garcia, Justice Shelton, Major Shelton, Olivia Holifield, Brielle Davidson, Jeremy Chaney, Serenity Chaney, Braxton Newberry and Clayton Chaney. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Shelton.

Betty loved life and being around people.  In her younger years she was a car hop at a popular drive in.  She moved to Florida in 1984 and worked building transformers for the military.  Betty then began working at a daycare until 2007 where her passion for children and her exemplary childcare skills were evident and appreciated.  In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting angels, listening to music and reading, especially romance, as she was a hopeless romantic herself.  She loved Alabama football and, above all, her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.
