Betty Sue Blocker

Betty Sue Blocker, age 72, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida.  She was born May 12, 1946 in Tavares, Florida, the daughter of Ambers and Alene Wallace Martin.  For many years, she helped on the family farm, working right along her husband’s side farming their 300 acres.  When her husband started his own business, Blocker Construction, she again was there to help anyway she could.  Betty enjoyed fishing, working in the family vegetable garden, and landscaping her yards beautifully every season of the year with flowers and shrubs.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Bruce, Wayne, and Elem Martin.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William Blocker; one son, William Daniel Blocker and wife Ryan of Tallassee, Alabama; one daughter, Theresa Ann Owen and husband Edward of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; five grandchildren, Will and Tori Blocker and Katelin, Jasmin, and Megan Owen; one great-grandchild, Olivia Reaves; two brothers, A. J. Martin and Edward Martin and his wife Deborah; and one sister, Linda Burlison.

 Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Ralph McCracken, Jr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Flowers are being accepted. If you would like, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
