Annette Jean Swartwood

On November 11, 2019 Anne took her last earthly journey to be with our Lord, family and friends who preceded her death.  She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on June 20, 1935 to Edward and Mary Komro of Durand, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Durand High School in 1953.  In 1955 she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the U.S. Navy Receiving Station in San Diego, California.

Anne and Woody Swartwood were married on July 13, 1957 in San Diego.  She made a home for him and their five children on three continents as they pursued his military and civilian careers.  One of Anne’s greatest pleasures was traveling.  They lived in or visited 104 countries and each of the seven continents and finally settled in Shalimar, Florida. 

Anne was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Ray and Peter and sisters, Dorothy and Nancy. 

Anne is survived by her loving husband, Arlan; five daughters, Pamela Gravelle, Barbara Swartwood, Lisa Swartwood, Laura Taylor and Heidi Murphy; ten grandchildren, twentytwo great grandchildren and sister, Erna. 

A Memorial Service will be held November 15, 2019, Friday at 2:00 p.m., Davis Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida 32547.

Anne will be laid to rest November 22, 2019 at 1:30 p.m., Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida.
