Anna Marie Coady, age 95, was born May 1st, 1924 and passed away on June 8th, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. Bonner and Amolia Mae Bonner; daughter, Christa Dawn Valencia; brother, James W. Bonner; sister, Juanita McKee; brother in-law, Lt. Col. Dan Walley; and great- grandson, Jamie Lee Hodge.
She is survived by her sister, Jonell Walley; her children, Cecelia Yvonne Ordiway (Dean Ordiway) and Charlotte Ann Hoover; her beloved nieces and nephews, Donna Jo, Susie, Danny, Jolynn, Jim and Patsy; six grandchildren, Ronald Ray Bevans (Ronnie), Debra Ann Bevans-Harvey (Debbie), Robyn Marie Bevans-Berry, Cynthia June Hodge (Cindi), Deni Jo May-Frazier (Johnny Frazier) and James Douglas DeJong (Jim); thirteen great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Throughout her years, she lived in many different places which included her birth state Mississippi, then California, and her final state of residency, Florida. She was the president of White Sands Manor Association in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and property manager for London and Stetlman Realtors in Hattiesburg, MS. In her younger years, Anna had worked as a sales associate. She was active in her church and often volunteered for many different organizations. She enjoyed painting ceramics (with her sisters, daughters, and grandchildren), cross-stitching and crocheting. She once won an award for her beautiful cross-stitch pieces. In her spare time, she loved watching her favorite television shows, working crossword puzzles, and watching her grandchildren play sports. Anna loved her whole family dearly.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 beginning at 2:00 p.m. A time of visitation will begin at 1:00. Anna’s final resting place will be beside her parents in Laurel, MS.
