Alta Minor

Alta Minor, age 76, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2019.  Alta was born on June 2, 1943, in Greenville, SC, to Boyce Freeman Davis and Lura Elizabeth Styles Davis.  Alta was a selfless, caring woman that volunteered often and loved the Lord and her church with all of her heart.  She was a master seamstress and wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend that was devoted to her family and those she loved.    

Alta is survived by her husband of 30 years, Cyrus Minor of Fort Walton Beach, FL; children, Beth Musick of Navarre, FL, Tony (Tammy) Logerwell of McDonough, GA, Donna Spiers of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Cheryl (John) Smith of Magnolia, TX, Thomas Minor of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Theresa (Mike) Perry of Lawley, AL; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings, Walker (Fay) Davis, Elizabeth Ballew, Nancy (Bill) Hardin and Linda Gibson; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Alta was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Miller; and grandson, Jeff Orben.

A time of visitation will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5 to 7 pm.  A celebration of life will be held at Wright Baptist Church, 795 NW Beal Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, FL, on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11 am. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in Alta’s memory.
