Biography

Lonnie Menser, age 71, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1938 in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Lonnie was a life time member of Amvets and honorary member of the VFW. He loved visiting and spending time with his many family and friends.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his mother and father, Annie and Jewell Menser; sister, Aline Mosley; and two brothers, Ernie and Donnie Menser.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen J. Menser; three daughters, Wendy Menser of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Peggy Sue Oliver and husband Donald also of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Mary Anne Street of Virginia; one son, Charles Menser and wife Susan of DeFuniak Springs, FL; six grandsons, Clay Walters, Shelby Freeman, Brent Oliver, Hunter Menser, Wolfy Menser, and Blaze Menser all of DeFuniak Springs, FL; one granddaughter, Saffy Menser of DeFuniak Springs, FL; two sisters, Martha Haley and husband Larry of Nortonville, Kentucky and Virginia Blair and husband Ken of Albany, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Lonnie’s life will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 beginning at 7 p.m. Flowers are being accepted, or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Regency Hospice, 3590 US Highway 331 South, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435
